Shriya Natarajan in Bharatanatyam pose

Sangamam

A Beautiful Confluence

Welcome to our Sangamam — the beautiful confluence of two families, two rich heritages, and two lifelong friends.

This arangetram celebrates Samanvaya, a harmony of roots and wings. Raised in the scenic Norwalk River Valley of Wilton, Shreya and Shriya honor the ancient traditions of their ancestors while stepping confidently onto the stage as artists of the modern diaspora.

We invite you to witness an afternoon of rhythm, devotion, mythology, friendship, and cross-cultural harmony.

The Theme

Samanvaya

Harmony, synthesis, and convergence.

Tamil Nadu

Shriya's family roots reach into the birthplace of Bharatanatyam — a tradition of structural precision, temple geometry, rhythmic vitality, and devotional discipline.

Kerala

Shreya's family carries the expressive soul of Kerala — Lasya, lyrical storytelling, the deep greens of the Western Ghats, and the rivers that run between two states.

Their shared home in Wilton, Connecticut — the Norwalk River Valley — is where these two traditions meet, and where this performance takes flight.

The Dancers

Two Dancers.
Two Family Stories.
One Shared Stage.

Shriya's family roots in Tamil Nadu and Shreya's family roots in Kerala give this arangetram its distinctive cultural frame. Their friendship and training bring those histories together through the language of Bharatanatyam.

Their Teacher

Smt. Jaynti Seshan

Jaynti Akka · Founder, Apsaras Dance Company

Shreya and Shriya are disciples of Smt. Jaynti Seshan, lovingly known as Jaynti Akka. Trained in Singapore and Chennai under the Dhananjayans at Bharata Kalanjali, she has performed across Asia, Europe, and Australia. She founded Apsaras Dance Company in Connecticut so that Bharatanatyam would continue to live and grow in the diaspora.

What you will witness tonight is her gift, offered through their bodies.
